Can this really be happening? Are there really two of me?

Few hours ago..

Jake and Tracy are at a party. This is some club with loud music and a big crowd. Some of them seem sober and some not but they seem to be having fun nonetheless. Even though there is a big crowd, you could feel like no one is watching you or judging you and do what you want. So, usually reserved Jake and Tracy don’t need to be reserved tonight. So they dance freely and enjoy the moment.

It’s been a while since they are dancing now, they try to find a place to sit down and catch their breadth. But all seats in the house seem to be already taken, despite it seeming like everyone is dancing. Jake suggests maybe they have partied enough for the night and should head out. Tracy, while being drunk, just gave a wheezing noise with a big nod, which Jake took as a yes.

They go out the door they came and open it. But when they go through the door they just seemed to have entered another club. They can’t hear the music from the previous club anymore but only this new club. They assume they are just too high and never actually got out. The pasta they had earlier did taste funny. They try to turn back but the door seems closed. They just decide to go with the vibe of the place and start dancing.

Few minutes in Tracy seems to spot Sandy, her childhood friend, from far away sitting on a couch. She takes Jake by hand and walk toward her to talk. But as they start there seems to be a big tussle as the music changed and they lose sight of her. People seem to be dancing all around them now, when they finally reach the couch there Sandy seems to be gone like she never really was here. They look around but no sign.

They were confused. Someone announced there are free shots. So they go and take some because why not? It was very rarely they got to meet and in such a carefree environment anyway, so why not make the most of it? They go toward the corner of dance floor where someone is pouring raw shots into people’s mouths as they have formed a sort of line. Jake and Tracy take some. It seems to have no effect so they go and take it again.

Then they start dancing. It seems like the tempo of the music has increased so they can’t be dancing slow because it will be like a “crime” in this environment. So in their head they are dancing around frantically. They try and mingle with other people, they get through to one group but immediately regret it. There were five people all wearing black silky clothes, two of them had headbands and one of them had a scar across his chin. All of them had a mark on their heads that seemed like a tattoo in the shape of a crescent. It seemed to shine when light fell on it.

Jake and Tracy find it very weird and decide to storm off. They find a gate and open it just to find there are only bricks behind it. Someone might have thought it funny to just put a door on the wall there to confuse people. At this point, Jake and Tracy have started freaking out. The music doesn’t seem to be getting any milder. It has started to nearly hurt their heads now. They are tired from all the dancing and moving about. They go in the direction they came from to find the original door but they cannot find it.

Just then Jake spots Sandy seems to be going through what seemed like a door under the staircase. So they head in that direction and find a little door there. They open it and find that.. it is just a mirror? Then where did Sandy go? They can see themselves in the mirror but they realize there is something is off.

Yes, the surroundings are different. Their own reflection is the same, when Jake tries to touch the mirror, the reflection touches at the same spot. Their have the same clothes and seem to be imitating their motions normally. But the wall color is different, but in fact when looking carefully there isn’t even a wall there. There seems to be some kind of dance floor here instead. Tracy is fully freaked out now. She thinks there are two of her now. Maybe someone has drugged them? But why can’t they find a way out?

Hey reader dude/dudette. At this point it can go anywhere, following is just one way it can go.

Jake and Tracy stared at their reflections in the mirror, bewildered and afraid. As they looked closer, they noticed that their reflections were also looking back at them with a sense of confusion and disbelief. It was as if they were looking into a parallel universe where everything was slightly different.

Suddenly, the reflection of Jake spoke up. “I think we’re trapped,” he said. “But maybe if we work together, we can find a way out.”

The reflection of Tracy nodded in agreement. “Yeah, we have to figure out what’s going on and how to get back to our own reality.”

With renewed determination, Jake and Tracy began to examine their surroundings more closely. They noticed that the dance floor seemed to be pulsing with an otherworldly energy, and that the music was coming from a source they couldn’t see.

After what felt like hours of searching, they finally stumbled upon a small doorway hidden in a corner of the room. As they approached it, they could hear faint whispers and murmurs coming from the other side.

Without hesitation, they pushed through the door and found themselves standing in a dimly-lit room filled with strange symbols and artifacts. In the center of the room was a figure, shrouded in shadow.

“Who are you?” Jake demanded, his heart pounding in his chest.

The figure stepped forward, revealing itself to be Sandy. “I’m sorry,” she said, her voice barely audible. “I didn’t mean for this to happen. I was experimenting with some new technology, and I accidentally created a rift in space-time.”

Jake and Tracy stared at her in disbelief. “What do we do now?” Tracy asked.

Sandy hesitated for a moment, then spoke again. “I think I can reverse the process, but it’s going to be risky. Are you willing to take that chance?”

Jake and Tracy looked at each other, then nodded in unison. They knew they had to do whatever it took to get back to their own reality.

Sandy closed her eyes and began to chant, her body glowing with an eerie blue light. As she chanted, the room began to shake and the symbols on the walls began to glow.

For a moment, Jake and Tracy thought they were going to be trapped in this alternate reality forever. But then, with a blinding flash of light, they were transported back to their own reality.

As they stumbled out of the room, Jake and Tracy collapsed onto the ground, gasping for air. They looked at each other, then burst out laughing, relieved to be back in their own world.

From that day forward, they never took their reality for granted again. They knew that anything was possible, and that they had to cherish every moment they had together. And whenever they heard the faint sound of music in the distance, they couldn’t help but smile, knowing that they had survived their journey into the unknown.
